Two Ways to Build a Berkeley Ferry: $170 Million or $20 Million

On November 17 the City Council votes on the Pier-Ferry Project. The plan on the table puts a commuter ferry terminal out on the Berkeley Pier for roughly $170 million, with new bay fill for breakwaters and up to 400,000 cubic yards of dredging.
There is another way to do it. A ferry landing inside the existing marina would cost about $20 million, need no new fill and far less dredging, run in all weather, offer more parking choices, and start service years sooner. It would also leave the pier for fishing and walking. The city refused to study it.
The flyer below puts the two side by side. Save it, print it, hand it to a neighbor.

Write Council and come to the meeting on November 17. Both take about two minutes: saveberkeleypier.org/action
